Fox Trot 5K Run/Walk
Get Ready to Run!!

THE BATAVIA WILSON ST BRIDGE IS SCHEDULED TO BE CLOSED ON RACE DAY. PLEASE ALLOW AMPLE TRAVEL AND PARKING TIME.

More than 600 participants are expected to participate in the 8th Annual Fox Trot 5K Run/Walk, to be held Sunday April 27th, 2008 at the Batavia Riverwalk. Proceeds will be used to support the Batavia Public Schools and other educational opportunities for local families. The event features:

• CARA Registered 5K Run / Walk, 8am on Houston Street
• Awards Ceremony recognizing 5K overall winners and age group leaders at 9am
• Professionally timed results available on-line at www.racetime.info
• Runners' Warm Up yoga presented by Prana Yoga at 7:15am, grassy area south of the Peg Bond Center.
• 50 yard Tot Trot for preschoolers, 1/4 mile Junior Jog for grades K-2, and 1/2 mile Youth Run for grades 3-5, activities begin at 9:15am.  *All are non-competitive and will be run in small heats.  Every child receives a medal for participation.
• Free cone night for grade school with the most registered supporters

• Raffle for exciting prizes, including 4 box seats to a Chicago Cubs game. Tickets will be sold for $1 each.

The Fox Trot is perfect for avid runners and novices alike, and it is a great way to involve the whole family in a fitness activity.

Costs:

• 5K run/walk: $20, $25 after 4/21
• Kids' Runs:  $8, $10 after 4/21
• CARA member pre-registering discount: $2.00  
• T-shirt included with registration

Online registration is now open at www.signmeup.com/58938. There is no extra fee to use this service, and parents can also sign up their children for the kids' runs.

Race day packet pick up and registration will all be in the City Hall building. 5K participants can check in between 6:45 and 7:40am. Kids' Run check-in and registration close at 8:45am.
