Fox Trot Run/Walk

Fox Trot 2020 is cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Batavia Mothers’ Club Foundation has been closely following the ever-changing status of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the recommendations from the CDC, Governor Pritzker, and the IDPH to cancel all public gatherings for the next 8 weeks, we are cancelling the 2020 Fox Trot 5K/10K that was to be held on Saturday, April 25th. The health and well being of our community is important to BMCF. Though we are disappointed to cancel the always popular and fun Fox Trot, we hope that in doing so we are doing our part to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Registered racers will have the option of donating their registration fee to the Batavia Mothers’ Club Foundation, or to transfer their registration to next year’s 2021 Fox Trot. Our foundation is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit and we work hard every year to raise money for families in the Fox Valley. As we are a non-profit and have already incurred some non-refundable costs in the planning of the race, we are unable to provide refunds for registrants.

We appreciate your continued support of the Batavia Mothers’ Club Foundation and our mission to improve the quality of life for children and families in the Fox Valley. As our community navigates these uncertain and stressful times it is a gift to be able to lean on our friends and neighbors. Thank you for being a part of the BMCF community.

Please reach out to us at foxtrot@bataviamothersclub.org with any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you out on the running trails again soon.

The Next Batavia Mothers’ Club Fox Trot will be in April 2021!

Lace up your running shoes and bring the family to the friendliest race on the Fox River! The Batavia Mothers’ Club Foundation (BMCF) is excited to invite you to participate in the 21st Annual Fox Trot 5K and 10K race in April 2021, at the Batavia Riverwalk (Island Avenue & Houston Street in downtown Batavia). Both the 5K and 10K start at 8:00AM and feature courses along the beautiful Fox River. Following the race is an award presentation for the winners of both races.

The Fox Trot also features two non-competitive races designed for children. The Junior Jog, for children in preschool through first grade, is approximately ¼ mile long. Second through fifth graders are encouraged to try the Youth Run (1 mile). The kids’ events begin at approximately 8:45AM, but all are welcome to partake in the pre-race events, which will include a group stretch. Also, back by popular demand this year is the 5K Stroller Division.

Pre-registration for all events is encouraged. The pre-registration cost for the 5K is $30 per runnerand the pre-registration cost for the 10K is $40 per runner. There is no charge for either of the kids’ fun runs, but a donation of $10 per child is suggested. Funds raised through this event will support local charities in the Fox Valley area, as well as Batavia schools.

In-person registration will also be accepted on race day from 6:30 – 7:40 a.m. just outside the Peg Bond center. Registration fees after April 22nd will be $35 for the 5K and $45 for the 10K. We look forward to seeing you on April 25th for this fun and family-friendly event!

Bunco 2017

Our 3rd annual Bunco was held on February 25, 2017, at Batavia Moose Lodge and a radically awesome time was had by all who attended! The theme this year was I love the 80s, Totally Rad Bunco.

This year’s event was almost at max capacity. Attendees enjoyed traveling back to the 80s listening to tunes from Bon Jovi and Cyndi Lauper to El Debarge and Stevie Wonder as well as noshing on refreshments from Enticing Cuisine or snacks like candy cigarettes. Raffles and mini games accompanied the main event, Bunco, as well. Both volunteers and attendees alike donned neon, leg warmers, acid-washed jeans or Flashdance-inspired gear and were met with many laughs. We had a wonderful time this year and we hope that all of our participants did as well!
